About the HCEDC

The Howard County Economic Development Council (HCEDC) is a coalition of private and public financial stakeholders, along with dedicated volunteers, all working toward a brighter future for Howard County and its communities. Through regular meetings and ongoing engagement with businesses, local leaders, and stakeholders, HCEDC ensures that business retention, expansion, economic vitality, and growth remain at the forefront of local conversations.

The council actively facilitates business retention and expansion visits, coordinates stakeholder check-ins, provides technical support for incentive development, and serves as a crucial liaison between communities, businesses, and state program coordinators. Additionally, HCEDC plays a vital role in community and economic data collection, helping to inform strategic decisions.

Beyond these efforts, the council offers professional resources for chambers of commerce and Main Street organizations, supports workforce development initiatives, connects entrepreneurs with training and startup resources, and provides economic development training for public employees and government officials. HCEDC also coordinates professional planning services and tracks economic development leads in collaboration with organizations like Missouri Partnership.

By supporting HCEDC, you are investing in the long-term success and prosperity of Howard County—consider partnering with us today to help drive meaningful growth and opportunity in our community.
